GRANTS

 Community Support Grant
A total of three grant opportunities are now available to VFW Posts, VFW Districts, Auxiliary Posts and Auxiliary Districts. Applicants may receive up to $1,500 to help offset expenses incurred by doing a community service project through both of the VFW Foundation’s #StillServing Grants. The applications for two #StillServing grants, the Community Support Grant and District Corporate Partnership Grant, can be found at www.vfw.org/grants. The Community Support Grant is offered exclusively to VFW Posts and Auxiliary Posts, and the District Corporate Partnership Grant is offered exclusively to VFW Districts and Auxiliary Districts. Applications for both of these grants will be accepted until June 1, 2023 or until all budgeted funds have been exhausted. These grants are reimbursement-based meaning that applicants will have to complete a qualifying project prior to applying.
Uniting to Combat Hunger
The Fall 2022 Uniting to Combat Hunger (UTCH) Grant application can be found at www.vfw.org/utch. This is a 1-1 matching grant through which the VFW Foundation will provide $1 to a VFW Post or Auxiliary for every pound of food or dollar donated to a local food bank or food pantry. Applicants may also request funding for food pantries they directly operate, restrictions apply. Up to $1,500 in matching funds can be received through this grant program during the cycle which will run until December. Only a Post or its Auxiliary may receive a UTCH Grant award, not both. Applicants are encouraged to work with Humana Agents in the facilitation of their projects. Humana agents can be found by visiting https://medicareagent.humana.com/. There is also an opportunity to receive $500 in reimbursed funding to construct a little free food pantry through this grant.

The VFW Foundation strongly encourages applicants to contact the VFW Foundation staff before applying or starting a project to ensure that it qualifies for grant funding. So long as an applicant has a qualifying project, provides sufficient and satisfactory proof of spending with a properly completed application and funding is available, the VFW Foundation will approve their grant requests. If you have any questions please contact External Relations and Grants Coordinator Jason Couch at jcouch@vfw.org or by calling 816-968-1174. The VFW Foundation staff looks forward to receiving applications from your Posts, Auxiliaries or Districts!
