As we express our
gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter
the words, but to live by them.
Regard your soldiers as your children, and they
will follow you into the deepest valleys; look on them as your own beloved
sons, and they will stand by you even unto death.
It is foolish and
wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God such men lived.
